    The scene is the set where Anthony J Lefcourt writer and director, is rehearsing his new play, a classic whodunit with which he hopes to regain the success that has eluded him in recent seasons. Desperately eager to stimulate his cast to their best efforts, he has deliberately withheld the final scene of the play from them, but his patience is worn thin by the petty jealousies and romantic rivalries that detract from their concentration.

    Paul Kendon is a highly-successful international businessman whos world is turned upside down when a man claims to have kidnapped his daughter. Although Kendon is prepared to quietly pay the ransom, his security officer calls in the police in the form of the cool, intelligent Inspector Joy Hart. Kendon must take a back seat as Hart engages the kidnapper in a battle of wits, leading to the exciting climax with unexpected twists.

    Set in a burnt-out old theatre adjoining a mental hospital in 1970s Australia. Corralled by the manic depressive Roy and encouraged by social worker Justin, an eccentric group of patients is attempting to stage a production of Mozart’s opera, Cosi fan Tutte. Fresh out of university, Lewis has agreed to direct the amateur production, but between elaborate artistic visions, obsessive compulsions, escapist tendencies, no one being able to sing. Lewis has his work cut out for him.
